TravelBug: Quick Nairobi

It's my first time to do a Nairobi flight but I wasn't really interested in going out since I only have 23 hours layover.
Was so exhausted after flying for two consecutive days that I can't wait to crash in my bed -- or any bed.

This is the Intercontinental Nairobi. Check out the Cheetah print inspired carpet.

Seeing Dilmah Green Tea at the counter made me happy. Yay!

Surprised to see Mara Clara on local tv! LOL.

Few hours later I realized that I need to go out and do something at least. Staying in my room for almost 20 hours would be a waste. This is Africa after all, and I may never get the chance to see it again.

I opted for a quick tour since I don't have much time so I inquired at the concierge what's the nearest attraction and if its possible to arrange for transportation since I'm not familiar with the place. Luckily they provided me with one so I booked for an early morning appointment the next day.

Fast forward to 8:30am next day:

With my driver Mr. John Kipchu
*Btw, did you know that there are 75 countries who drive on the left hand side of the road? Wala lang. Hehe.

Mr. John took me to the animal orphanage in Lang'ata. He said most of the animals that were housed in there were young ones left by their mothers in the wild. Kawawa. They take care of the animals until they're ready to be released back into the open.

Posing with the Masai warrior who insisted I wear his necklace just because it matches my outfit.

Pumbaa, is that you??

The first one to greet me inside the orphanage was this cute fella Patrick who is a pure African warthog. Scary as he seems, Patrick is actually quiet and looks soooo cute. I swear.

Next on my cutie list is this giraffe. I forgot her name but she's so adorable. She was chewing off some branches when we came but when my tour guide called her, she walked towards us as if she wanted to say hi! I swear I want to take her home with me. May kaso ba pag nagnakaw ng giraffe? If ever she will fit in my suitcase, maybe I can get away with it no? LOL. Asa-ness.

Cute no? I'll show you some more pictures on my next post. BRB :)
