Look Ma, No more specs!

My left eye has been bothering me for quite a while now so I went to see the doctor last Monday. She told me it was a bit dry so I'm gonna need an eye lubricant to relieve the discomfort. She also ran some tests and gave me one bit of good news; I can skip wearing my correction glasses. Yay! Isn't that great?? No more window frames sitting in my nose everyday!
I still have minimal astigmatism on my left eye though but I wouldn't really need my specs for that. I would also need to wear UV protective glasses whenever I'm in front of my computer.
I think I can live with that. Haha.

Buh-bye for now Mister!

I was actually scared that my vision was getting worst and would reach a point that I'll need to wear these glasses even while on flying duty. No, thank you!
Good thing my doctor told me otherwise.

So now that I'm specs free, I can't wait to wear my normal sunglasses again in time for summer. Saw some cool and stylish sunglasses at http://www.warbyparker.com, by Waby Parker which you might wanna check out as well. Too bad I'm on a scrimp mode so no shopping for me at the moment. Haha.

Food Frenzy Friday: Chinese Takeout

I've been hearing a lot of raves about this Wai Ying Tea House for a quite a while now so when my sister asked where I wanted to celebrate my birthday, I told her we can just have dinner at Wai Ying. Nice opportunity to try, right?
But then, trouble ensued. Apparently, the place is too small to fit my barangay of a family. Sad.

Good thing someone was kind enough to bring Wai Ying to me :)

Wai Ying for breakfast. Yay!

Beef Wanton noodles and dimsum are TDF! Good price too.

I'm definitely visiting the place on my next leave!

I hate my Job

Reposting from Kulet's blog

When you have an ‘I Hate My Job day’ (Even if you’re retired, you sometimes have those days)
Try this out:
Stop at your local pharmacy and go to the Thermometer section and purchase a rectal thermometer made by Johnson and Johnson.
Be very sure you get this brand.
When you get home, lock your doors, draw the curtains and disconnect the phone so you will not be disturbed. Change into very comfortable clothing and sit in your favorite chair. Open the package and remove the thermometer. Now, carefully place it on a table or a surface so that it will not become chipped or broken.
Now the fun part begins.
Take out the literature from the box and read it carefully.
You will notice that in small print there is this statement: “Every Rectal Thermometer made by Johnson and Johnson is personally tested and then sanitized.”
Now, close your eyes and repeat out loud five times,’ I am so glad I do not work in the thermometer quality control department at Johnson and Johnson.’

HAVE A NICE DAY; AND REMEMBER, THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE ELSE WITH A JOB THAT IS MORE OF A PAIN IN THE BUTT THAN YOURS!
If you haven’t got a smile on your face and laughter in your heart… maybe you should go and work for Johnson and Johnson!
Enjoy life now – It has an expiration date!

Food Frenzy Friday: Young adult

I'm not a crablet
Not yet a crab

All I need is time
A moment that is mine
While I'm in between..

LOL. Corny.

Dunno how these ones are called since they look too small for crabs but too big to be crablets. Tweens perhaps? Whatever. They're super yummy though; steamed just right then dipped in spicy vinegar and paired with steaming rice. Pig out mode lang.

Scream Scene

I've never seen a chameleon except for Randall from Monster's Inc

That's until I saw this video. Apparently, they look a tad bit cuter than Iguanas. At least for me. Quite a screamer too.

Check it out:

Where's the rewind button?

Arrived Manila 29th of Feb and went straight to Mall of Asia despite the 9 hour flight. We decided (well, more of I insisted) to grab a bite at Jatujak since we've been wanting to try it for quite a while now.

I wasn't able to take any decent picture of our menu because I was too hungry to care. Sayang. Their crispy pork and som tam was so good pa naman. My mom said everything was a little too sweet though.

The place looks cute. Cozy kahit nasa mall.

Egie, nagmo-moment with the fan

Sunset Moment came next. Nice no?

I was desperately looking for Serenitea after our early dinner but there was none so we ended up here. Wrong choice though. Taro milk tea was a letdown.

Didn't wanna go home yet so we decided to stroll around. Manong driver was kind enough to take us on his small tram around the mall. Pang senior citizens daw. Haha.

Also gave wow wheels a try.
Scary but fun!

Fast forward to two weeks and I'm back in the sandpit. Can't believe my vacation went just like THAT. I didn't have the chance to meet some friends but I was able to spend more time with my mom at home so it was awesome. Still, it's not enough! Not enough! Hay. I miss home.
